The Chikwa Ecovillage project is the foundational first step in a long-term vision to establish the North Chikwawa Eco-District, a resilient, food-self-sufficient region for ~150,000 people. This initial phase involves creating a 10-hectare prototype Ecovillage that will serve as the central training hub, research center, and replicable blueprint for this larger network. By management, the project will establish a model for sustainable living while immediately strengthening the local food system by integrating with and supporting farmers across the North Chikwawa District.
